AGL = Above Ground Level.
ASL = Above Sea Level.

Generally speaking, AGL is higher than ASL.
Above Ground Level, or AGL, describes the literal height above the ground over which you’re flying. Mean Sea Level, or MSL, is your true altitude or elevation. It’s the average height above standard sea level where the atmospheric pressure is measured in order to calibrate altitude.

You may want to ask the dropzone whether they jump ASL or AGL, as this can make an appreciable difference in your skydive experience. Let Skydive Blue Sky take you higher!

Yes, of course. The CSPA is authorized by the Aero Club of Canada to issue parachuting certificates on behalf of the FAI, in the general interest of sport aviation in Canada. The CSPA issues Certificates of Proficiency (CoPs) to recognize ability and knowledge.

Skydiving is an extreme sport that involves inherent risks. Tandem Skydiving was designed to introduce the general public to our sport in the safest way possible. Statistically, Tandem skydiving is far less dangerous then every day activities such as driving on the highway.

Once you are geared up and loaded into the aircraft, you can expect a scenic 15 minute flight to altitude. Once the door opens be prepared for 40 seconds of free fall at 120 MPH. Your Canopy flight is approximately 5 min, although the more spins you do the shorter it is!

Yes, we absolutely do. We will match or beat any competitors tandem skydive price in Alberta.

What is the difference between AGL and ASL?

AGL (Above Ground Level) and ASL (Above Sea Level) are terms used to measure altitude in aviation. AGL refers to the height of an object or aircraft above the ground directly beneath it, providing a local perspective. When a Skydive business advertises 13,000 feet, you may want to ask is that AGL or ASL, as this can make an appreciable difference in your skydive experience. Let us take you higher!

Is Tandem Skydiving Safe?

Tandem skydiving, when performed at a reputable and licensed dropzone like Skydive Extreme Alberta, with experienced instructors, is considered very safe. Modern equipment, including reserve parachutes and automatic activation devices (AADs), significantly minimizes risks.

Rigorous safety protocols and thorough pre-jump training further enhance safety. While inherent risks exist in any adventure sport, the statistics demonstrate that tandem skydiving has a remarkably high safety record. Chances are higher of getting injured during other physical activities compared to skydiving – like while you commute to work in the morning!
