Tandem Skydiving Is Safe
Tandem skydiving, when performed at a reputable and licensed dropzone like Skydive Extreme Yeti, with experienced instructors, is considered very safe. Modern equipment, including reserve parachutes and automatic activation devices (AADs), significantly minimizes risks.
Rigorous safety protocols and thorough pre-jump training further enhance safety. While inherent risks exist in any adventure sport, the statistics demonstrate that tandem skydiving in Alberta has a remarkably high safety record. Chances are higher of getting injured during other physical activities compared to skydiving – like while you commute to work in the morning!
What is the difference between AGL and ASL?
AGL (Above Ground Level) and ASL (Above Sea Level) are terms used to measure altitude in aviation. AGL refers to the height of an object or aircraft above the ground directly beneath it, providing a local perspective. When a Skydive business advertises 13,000 feet, you may want to ask is that AGL or ASL, as this can make an appreciable difference in your skydive experience. Let us take you higher!
